Zyderm

Details

Zyderm (injectable collagen) is produced in various thicknesses to meet the individual patient needs. Zyderm is used to fill wrinkles, scars and lines on the face and in some cases chest, back and neck. Treatment with Zyderm (collagen) may start after a skin test shows you don’t have allergy to this substance. Zyderm is injected using a fine needle and is inserted at several points along the edge of the treatment site. If a local anesthesia is not performed, the patient may feel some major burning and stinging while the Zyderm injection is administered. Since part of this substance is salt water that is to be absorbed by the body within several days, your physician will slightly overfill the effected area. You can be asked to hold a mirror during the procedure to help your physician decide if you’ve had enough. Any redness after the injection usually disappears within 1 to 2 days.
