Liposuction for Men

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery performed on men in a procedure that can improve the contour of your body by removing unwanted fat, which you can’t remove by using diet or exercise.

Unwanted fat deposits for men are usually flanks, the abdomen, or the chest. Also possible areas include buttocks, knees, upper arms, chin and hips.

You should know that liposuction is not a weight-loss method; you should be near your ideal weight before surgery. Removing large amounts of fat requires general or regional anesthesia. If there are only small amounts of fat to be removed, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Some men wish to have liposuction in the abdominal area and learn that abdominoplasty which is named “a tummy tuck”. It helps them to reach their goals to trimmer abdomen unlike liposuction, abdominoplasty leaves a permanent scar that stretches from one hip to the other.

Candidates for abdominoplasty should be at or near their ideal weight. This procedure is more serious than lipsuction, so you should stay at home from work 1-2 weeks or longer, to recover. It takes about one year to see if scars still occur.
