The most popular method involves a tray that is made to fit the patient’s mouth which is worn at night with the gel and then repeated again the following day.

Teeth usually become much whiter within 12 days with a system like this. Other methods of teeth whitening that you dentist may recommend will most likely be: implants, composite bonding, porcelain veneers and bleaching. After any type of tooth whitening procedure, patients should avoid certain foods that cause stains such as coffee, tobacco and red wine for about a week. Cost of treatment usually varies and it depends on the dentist and the seriousness of the case.

Take home treatments go for about $100-$500 while in office treatments range from anywhere between $500 to $2000.
