Gabitril (tiagabine HCI) is a medication that is used to treat a condition that is caused by imbalance of GABA, a chemical in your brain. GABA is a chemical occuring naturally in a person's brain that plays a role in normal brain fuction. Gabitril helps increase the GABA level by blocking its reabsorption. Gabitril has been approved as a form of add on therapy for partial seizure disorder management. Common side effects that have resulted from this medication included dizziness, nausea, lack of energy, abdominal pain, concentration difficulty. Gabitril should be taken with food and always as prescribed by your doctor.
