Forehead Lift

Details

A forehead lift is the surgery performed to tighten the forehead region by removing excess fat and skin. A forehead lift or ‘browlift’ helps restore a more refreshed and youthful look to the region right above the eyes. The operation corrects drooping brows while improving furrows as well as horizontal lines which can cause the individual to appear tired, sad, or angry. During the forehead lift procedure, the tissues and muscles which cause the drooping or furrowing are altered or removed to make the forehead smooth, minimize frown lines, and raise the eyebrows. The doctor can use the conventional surgical technique, in which the incision is hidden right behind the hairline; or it can be done with an endoscope, which is a viewing instrument allowing the surgery to be done with minimal incisions. Both methods bring similar results: forehead skin that is smoother, and a greater animated appearance. Before the forehead lift surgery begins, a doctor will give you specific instructions to help you prepare for the procedure, including guidelines on drinking and eating, smoking, and taking or avoiding certain drugs. The forehead lift surgery is usually performed by a plastic surgeon in hospital.
