Facial Implant

Details

A facial implant is a plastic surgery procedure where an implant is placed in the cheek, chin, or jaw in order to improve facial feature proportions or to enhance facial aesthetics. A cheek implant operation is used to produce a stronger profile and more pronounced cheeks. This surgery lasts from 30 to 60 minutes. The implant is inserted through an incision done inside the upper lip or lower eyelid. Chin implant operation is used to augment a weak chin. The main goal in this procedure is to bring it into balance with other facial features. Facial implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia. The operation lasts up to 1 hour. The small incision to insert the implant is placed inside the mouth or in the skin under the chin region. The scar, caused by this incision is usually not noticeable. Normal activity may be resumed within a week after the surgery. Jaw implant operation usually takes about 1 to 2 hours. Incisions are performed on either side of the lower lip to insert the implant. Facial implant procedure is usually a safe surgery, when done by a qualified plastic surgeon. As with any surgery procedures there are some risks which must be discussed with your doctor.
