Drug Erbitux, also referred to as cetuximab is used to treat patients with advanced colorectal cancer that spread to other parts of the body. Erbitux is the first monoclonal antibody approved by the FDA to treat this form of cancer by interfering with cancer cell growth and slowing down their spread and growth in the body. It was developed by ImClone Systems ( a US pharmaceutical company).
