Episcleritis

Details

Episcleritis is a sclera inflammation, a tissue layer that lyes below the conjunctiva. Commonly, the inflammation affects only a small eyeball patch and results in slightly raised, yellow area. Such condition is not generally a sign of other disorder and tends to disappear and repeat. Corticosteroid eyedrops may be administered; although treatment is frequently not needed.
