Electroencephalography (EEG) is a painless, simple procedure, in which twenty leads (wires) pasted on the scalp to record and trace the brain’s electrical activity. Recording in the group of wave patterns helps detect epilepsy and in some cases, specific rare metabolic brain disorders. Sometimes, the epilepsy that is difficult to detect, recordings are performed over a 24 hour period. Otherwise, electroencephalography gives little specific information.
