Diazepam is a medication used in treatment of anxiety, seizures and muscle spasms. It comes in a tablet, extended release capsule and liquid. Other uses of this medicine include treatment of IBS and panic attacks. Common side effects of Diazepam are weakness, dry mouth, upset stomach, diarrhea, drowsiness and appetite changes. Brand name of this drug is: Valium and Valrelease. You shouldn't take a larger dosage of Diazepam because it can be habit-forming. With excessive use, tolerance can develop which would make the drug less effective. Stopping the use of Diazepam suddenly may make your condition worse and cause symptoms of withdrawl. Consult with your doctor if you have any concerns and call your doctor immediately if the following symptoms occur from the usage of Diazepam: seizures, severe skin rashes, fever, irregular heartbeat, yellowing eyes or skin and fine tremor.
