Diabinese

Details

Diabinese (Chlorpromide) is an oral anti-diabetic drug prescribed in treatment of Type 2 diabetes. This medication controls diabetes by stimulating pancreas in order to secrete more insulin. You should know that Diabinese is an aid to, not a substitute for, exercising and diet. If you do not follow an appropriate diet & exercise plan, you can experience serious complications, such as dangerously low or high blood sugar levels. Remember, Diabinese isn’t an oral form of insulin, and it’s not a substitute for Insulin. Your doctor will usually recommend taking this medication every morning along with breakfast. Sometimes, in cases of upset stomach, your doctor may ask you to take Diabinese in smaller doses within the day. Common side effects of this drug such as: loss of appetite, hunger, nausea, vomiting, itching, and upset stomach may occur, while taking Diabinese. In rare cases, side effects may be hives, anemia, colon inflammation, and yellowing of the eyes or skin. If you experience any of these side effects, notify your doctor as soon as possible. Only he will be able to determine if this medication may cause low blood sugar (also known as hypoglycemia). If you miss meals, other medications and follow a guideline of excessive exercise may result in lower blood sugar. To avoid hypoglycemia, you should follow the exercise and dietary regiment as instructed by your doctor. If you experience such symptoms of hypoglycemia like: fast heartbeat, headache, nausea, cold sweat, drowsiness, and in worst cases coma or seizures, you should contact your doctor or go to the emergency room as soon as you can. Avoid taking Diabinese, if you have had allergic reactions to its ingredients in the past. Do not take Diabinese if you have diabetic ketoacidosis (a life-threatening condition caused by insufficient insulin, marked by excessive thirst, fatigue, and nausea). People with heart disease should discuss their concerns with their doctor before starting to take this medication. It is very important to check your blood and urine periodically to see if there is a presence of abnormal sugar levels. If you take Diabinese with drugs such as Aspirin and anabolic steroids, the effects of either may decrease, increase or become altered. Dosage of this medication depends on each individual’s needs. Overdose may cause low blood sugar therefore in this case you should carry a sugar product with you at all times in order to correct this condition.
