Details

Concerta is an ADHD treatment medication available by prescription. This drug is different from other adhd medications because it uses a combination of methylphenidate and OROS delivery system, a symptom management system lasting up to 12 hours with one single dose. Concerta has been proven to be safe in clinical studies and even though all ADHD treatment medications have side effects, Concerta has the least amount of incidences that result from its use. This drug works by stimulating the central nervous system and is also used to treat other conditions. You should avoid taking Concerta if you have had an allergic reaction to it in the past, severe anxiety, glaucoma, depression, high blood pressure, epilepsy, or seizures. This medication should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The most common side effects of this medicine include: insomnia, headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, nervousness, decreased appetite, and tics. Do not take Concerta with other medications such as MAOIs as Marplan or Nardil and Parnate. If you suspect symptoms of overdose such as: tremors, seizures, and irregular heartbeat you should seek emergency attention as soon as possible. Keep Concerta at room temperature and away from heat, moisture, and light.
