Babesiosis

Babesiosis is a medical condition, in which red blood cell infection is resulted from Babesia parasites. Hard-bodied ticks-the same deer ticks that are transmitting LYME disease, transmitting Babesia parasites. Individuals are rare infected, although, such infection in animals is common. Symptoms of Babesiosis include fever and anemia resulted from red blood cell breakdown. In individuals with removed spleen a Babesiosis may be fatal, In these individuals, the infection is producing kidney failure, jaundice, high fever, hemoglobine in the urine, and anemia; and such infection closely resembles malaria falciparum. An individual, who has functional spleen, experiences a milder illness that commonly disappears on its own within months or weeks. Most Babesiosis cases in the U.S. (which are acquired on Massachusetts and New York offshore islands) are mild. Babesiosis' diagnosis determined by confirming the parasite, that is resembling those that result in malaria. Treatment include use the drug called Clindamycin.
