Abdominal Ultrasound Scan is a procedure, which uses sound waves to produce pictures of internal organs. It may reveal the shape and size of many individual’s organs, including pancreas and liver, and may also show defected parts within them. Abdominal Ultrasound Scan may also reveal the fluid presence. Such method is not good for testing digestive tract lining, so it is not used to check for tumors and cause of bleeding in small intestine, large intestine, or stomach. Abdominal Ultrasound Scan is a painless type of procedure that poses no risk. A doctor or technician presses a small probe against the individual’s abdominal wall and directs sound waves to different abdomen parts by moving the probe. The picture is then displayed on a screen of the video and recorded video film.
